Montessori states that “The true basis of the imagination is reality.”
independent Independent

integrated-1 Integrated
Montessori education is driven by an ambitious aim to aid the child’s development into a complete adult human being, comfortable with himself, with his society and with humanity as a whole.

Note from the founder’s desk – Our Story

seprator

Mr and Mrs Velji,

Mrs Pooja Velji is a Bachelor in Arts and Education. Her interest in the field of education was piqued alongside her child’s enrollment in the academic schools. Not convinced with the methods and approach, thus, started her quest for looking for alternatives that would be meaningful and purposeful to the child and the life ahead.

Among the many explorations, the method that appealed to her the most was Montessori Method of Education. She studied and got certified through Associate Montessori International. Working with children only led her to the realization that this was her “calling” and it made her more resilient in persuading and setting up her centre for child education.

Mr Karim Velji by profession is a business man. He too got converted to a staunch Montessori followers. The method has magic in it and just rubs off to another when we start listening. Mr Velji’s turning point was when he went on to study and got certified through Associate Montessori International.

The sparks of this beginning also got us in touch with families who were actively looking for progressive education for their children. These little dots of connected to form a community.

Montessori wakes one up to the fact that the role of the child is much greater than we imagine and its absolutely thrilling to be in the center of this raw form of potential that can help shape the world as a better place.

“We have come a long way but we still have work to do and are committed to it….”

The greatness of the human personality begins at the hour of birth.

p1

From this mystic affirmation there comes what may seem a strange conclusion that education starts from birth.

This understanding of  the development of a personality and the importance of education from birth are the two building blocks for a child.

To be recognized for unlimited potential and possibilities rather than a mere transmission of knowledge. To be recognized for uniqueness and celebrated for being distinctive rather than standardization.

Something that was born so small, dependant and incapable, will one day become an adult with his own mind.

A child is going through a tremendous growth and development stages in its formative years. Every time a child adapts, learns or perfects a skill like walking, talking, eating – it gets ready to learn a new set of skills. The child gets ready for a new challenge. This exiting from one stage and leaping to another is like a child re-born.

Its just like a caterpillar going through stages to emerge like a butterfly. Totally new!

Development is a series of re-births.

p1

Children become like the things they love.

p1

A child’s mind is like a sponge, it absorbs what it experiences.  It collects everything in its shopping bag or it clicks every picture like a camera. It has no way of distinguishing between good or not so good. These impression stay with the child for life.

Hence everything given with love becomes a part of his personality. Just like the first nursery rhyme that you learnt or the stories told by your grandmother.

Of all things love is the most potent.

Means “Children’s house”

Children participate in house activities, share, clean, interact, play, rest, say stories, eat, socialize and solve conflict.

Just like one would do in their house.

Hence everything given with love becomes a part of his personality. Just like the first nursery rhyme that you learnt or the stories told by your grandmother.

Of all things love is the most potent.

Mixed age groups in a room

p1

Community is mixed age group. Be it your workplace, your family or recreational places. There are people younger, elder or peer age in any group.

Why should schools be any different? Younger children learn and look on and older children get the chance to teach, reinforcing their own learning. They get a chance to practice leadership skills.

Another way of building a community.

Education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual. It is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences upon the environment.

He does it with his hands, by experience, first by play then through work.

p1

The hands are the instrument of man’s intelligence.

p1

The environment must be rich in motives which lends interest to activity and invite the child conduct his own experience.

Each level thoughtfully curate and crafted to meet Natural Development.

(Age 0-6 ) Functional Independence

Children feel capable when they’re caring for their indoor and outdoor environments. Toileting, dressing and undressing, eating and food preparation, plant and animal care, washing cloths, sweeping, gardening, and self-soothing to sleep, washing their hands, brushing or combing their hair, or wiping their nose.

(Age 6-12) Intellectual Independence

Facts and names were once of absorbing interest. Now it is a drive to

find out How? and Why? Children are drawn to ideas, and enjoy

discussions where ideas and logical trains of thought are explored.

Natural development is defined as the conquest of successive levels of independence.

FAQs

Montessori (pronounced MON-tuh-SORE-ee) education was founded in 1907 by Dr. Maria Montessori, the first woman in Italy to become a physician. She based her educational methods on scientific observation of children’s learning processes. Guided by her discovery that children teach themselves, Dr. Montessori designed a “prepared environment” in which children could freely choose from a number of developmentally appropriate activities. Now, nearly a century after Maria Montessori’s first casa dei bambini (“children’s house”) in Rome, Montessori ed

Research studies show that Montessori children are well prepared for later life academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to scoring well on standardized tests, Montessori children are ranked above average on such criteria as following directions, turning in work on time, listening attentively, using basic skills.

As with the choice of a Montessori school for children, an adult must also exercise wisdom in choosing a teacher training course. Anyone can legally use the name “Montessori” in describing their teacher training organization. One must be sure the certification earned is recognized by the school where one desires to teach. The two major organizations offering Montessori training in are the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI, Netherland and the American Montessori Society (AMS)
